How a project runs

Scoping call
We talk through what you need and what it has to do. No charge, around forty minutes, online.

Written quote
You receive a document listing deliverables, milestones, timeline and one fixed price. Nothing is billed until you accept it.

Build
Fifty percent is invoiced to begin. You see progress at each milestone and can request changes within the agreed scope.

Delivery
The remaining fifty percent is invoiced on completion. Code, accounts and assets transfer to you once final payment clears.

Terms of service
Who these terms are between
These terms govern services provided by Mizan Research LLC, 30 North Gould Street, Suite R, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States, to the client named on an accepted quote. Accepting a quote or paying a deposit invoice means accepting these terms.
Scope of work
Each project is defined by a written quote listing deliverables, milestones, timeline and price. Work outside that document is not included. If you want something added, we quote it separately and you decide whether to proceed.
Payment
- One off projects: fifty percent on acceptance of the quote, fifty percent on completion.
- Maintenance: billed monthly in advance.
- All amounts are in US dollars and exclude any taxes payable in your own country.
- Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
Timelines
Timelines in a quote assume you supply content, access and feedback when requested. Delays in those move the delivery date by the same amount. We tell you in writing when that happens.
Revisions
Two rounds of revision are included at each milestone. Further rounds, or changes that alter the agreed scope, are quoted separately before any work on them begins.
Ownership
You own the delivered work, including source code, designs and content produced for you, once final payment has cleared. Third party software and libraries stay under their own licences. We keep the right to describe the project and show screenshots of it unless you ask us in writing not to.
Your responsibilities
You confirm that content and materials you supply are yours to use, and that the project does not break the law in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for your own hosting, domain and third party service costs unless the quote says otherwise.
Liability
Our total liability for any claim connected to a project is limited to the amount you paid us for that project. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data or business interruption. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States.
Refunds and cancellation
Before work begins
Cancel within seven calendar days of paying a deposit, provided work has not yet started, and you receive a full refund to the original payment method.
After work begins
You may cancel at any time. We invoice for milestones already delivered and accepted, and refund the remainder of what you have paid. Delivered milestones are not refundable, because the work and the files are yours to keep.
Maintenance
Cancel with fourteen days written notice. The current month runs to its end and is not refunded. No further months are billed.
If we cancel
If we cannot complete a project, we refund everything you have paid for work not yet delivered, and hand over whatever has been built at no charge.
How to request a refund
Email hello@mizanresearch.tech with your invoice number. We reply within two business days, and approved refunds reach your account within ten business days depending on your bank.
Privacy
What we collect
Your name, email address, company name and the details of what you want built. If you buy, we also hold billing information and invoice records. We do not run advertising trackers on this site.
Payments
Card payments are handled by Stripe, Inc. Your card number goes to Stripe directly and is never stored on our systems. Stripe processes that data under its own privacy policy.
How we use it
To quote for your project, deliver it, invoice you and keep the accounting records US law requires. We do not sell your data, and we share it only with the providers needed to run the business, such as our payment processor, email provider and accountant.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become projects are deleted after twelve months. Project and invoice records are kept for seven years to meet tax and accounting requirements.
Your choices
Email hello@mizanresearch.tech to see what we hold about you, correct it or ask for it to be deleted. We respond within thirty days. Records we are legally required to keep cannot be deleted before their retention period ends.
